To All Old Cornwall Societies
The Federation of Old Cornwall Societies invites all society members to this year’s Summer Festival at Padstow on Saturday, 24th June 2017. The venue will be in St. Petroc`s Parish Church by kind permission of Father Chris Malkinson and the PCC members.
The Padstow Old Cornwall Society has been asked to do the festival `our way` so expect some surprises!
We think Padstow has so much to offer that we are not offering coach trips this time. However we will be offering historical town walks with local residents knowledgeable in the history of Padstow
Our local Museum will be open from 11.00am – 2.00pm and hosted by two local volunteers.
We are also offering guided house tours of Prideaux Place, a local Tudor and Georgian Manor House. This is the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Prideaux – Brune. The house is usually closed on a Saturday so we are very grateful that we are being given this opportunity to visit.
As these tours are guided and therefore restricted in number so it is ESSENTIAL that members wishing to visit Prideaux Place return the booking form asap.
To avoid disappointment please do help us in this matter.
The Church doors will be open from 9.00am and we must vacate the building before 4:30 pm due to a service beginning at 5.00pm. Refreshments will be available on arrival in the Church.
Car parking is always a concern and the Church car park is very small and will not be in use due to building work. However a local farmer who uses a nearby field in the summer for car parking has offered the use of this field on this occasion free of charge.
There is also a Town Council car park nearby with the usual charges.
Directions for parking will be sent at a later date and will be signposted on the day. There will be a free minibus shuttle from the parking areas to the church for members who are unable to walk the short distance to the Church. It would be very helpful if members who would like to use the mini bus shuttle indicate this on the booking form. The minibus can accommodate wheelchairs if required.
The cost of the ticket is £8-00 which will include drinks and a saffron bun.
A beef, vegetable or cheese and onion pasty can be ordered at an extra cost of £3-00. Please complete the booking form making payment payable to `Padstow Old Cornwall Society` - thank you.
Once again we should be grateful if societies would contribute raffle prize.
Padstow Old Cornwall society is looking forward to welcoming `One and All` and hope that you will enjoy your day.
